About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Services Manager in Training to join our team at Yona Northstar. As a key member of our dietary department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food and nutrition services are provided to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Food Services Director in leading quality dining programs that enhance the meal experience for residents
  • Work with the Food Services Director to ensure dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Train staff in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees
  • Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered
  • Maintain required records, including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records
  • Manage a cost-effective program to budget
  • Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments
  • Actively participate in facility meetings and committees
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures
  • Promote the professional growth and development of the departmental team
  • Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable
  • Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments
  • Promote and monitor resident satisfaction
  • Ensure the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner
Requirements
  • Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long-term care preferred
  • ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association
  • Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, the credentialing agency of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP)
  • Skilled in motivating and supervising staff members
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, and quality attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Public speaking skills
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative, and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
