Job Summary

The Perioperative Patient Associate at BronxCare Health System plays a vital role in the procedural care team, working under the direct supervision of registered nurses and surgical technologists. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain a safe, neat, and clean patient environment.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to pages to assist with procedure room turnover, including cleaning equipment, tables, carts, and patient monitoring devices.
  • Call anesthesia tech for anesthesia turnover as directed.
  • Assist with setting up the procedure room for the next procedure, including setting up equipment and gathering supplies.
  • Clean medical equipment, OR beds, and patient positioning devices.
  • Transport sterile instruments and trays to and from sterile processing.
  • Answer the phone and make phone calls as directed by the charge nurse.
  • Assist the Charge RN with clerical duties and run front deck errands.
Qualifications
  • One year of job experience in a hospital or clinic.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Experience as a nurse's assistant is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
