Job Title: Aerospace Technician II

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. We're seeking a skilled Aerospace Technician II to join our team at the Surface Coating Facility, where you'll play a critical role in the production of our New Glenn launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply various coatings and thermal protection systems to New Glenn flight hardware according to written procedures and specifications.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts, to transport and position flight hardware.
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to ensure compliance with engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve production goals and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; industry certification or trade school training a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace coating and thermal protection applications.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: primer/topcoat spray-out and hand application, spray/molded foam insulation applications, conversion coating applications, sealant applications, adhesive bonding, RTV bonding of TPS, ablative TPS materials, foam insulation applications, pressure sensitive adhesive applications, vacuum bagging, thermal blankets, applying sealants, conversion coatings, primers, adhesives, and other special finishes.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for chemical handling and ability to work in a respirator.
  • Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse teams in a dynamic environment, with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working with aerospace thermal protection systems or coatings.
  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated success as a hands-on technical leader and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
