Electrical Engineer for UAV Design and Development

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at AEVEX Aerospace. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded electrical systems for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for UAVs, including circuit design and embedded microcontrollers
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to identify and resolve technical issues and improve system performance
  • Analyze and interpret technical data, such as specifications, blueprints, and schematics, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
  • Develop and maintain electrical control systems, including wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Plan and oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide technical support to production staff as needed
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure product reliability and performance
  • Stay current with new technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering
Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB, MIPI)
  • Familiarity with battery-powered UAVs
  • 3-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of electrical design software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations, including NEC, UL, and CE
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional certification, such as Professional Engineer (PE), is preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required
