Family Advocate

At SCMCAA, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit and enroll children in our Early Head Start/Head Start program by conducting home visits, assessing eligibility, and making recommendations to supervisors.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of family information and program participation.
- Work with families to identify their social service needs and make referrals to community resources.
- Provide direct services to support families in accessing essential services and coping with everyday challenges.
- Collaborate with other staff members and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive array of services is available to families.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic interviewing techniques and computer programs.
- Understanding of performance standards and regulations applicable to this position.
- Ability to develop respectful relationships with low-income community residents.
- Knowledge of the purpose, goals, and resources of SCMCAA.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift 55 pounds, and travel to various locations. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Missouri Chauffeur's License and pass a background screen, child abuse/neglect screen, and drug screen.
