Job Summary

The Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly skilled Financial Associate to provide comprehensive financial support to faculty and staff. This position will report to the Administrative Manager and will perform most work activities in a systematic, complex, and deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile purchasing card transactions using SAP Concur, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.
  • Travel Reimbursement: Process travel reimbursements, adhering to university policies and procedures, and ensuring timely payment to employees.
  • Purchase Orders and Receipts: Process purchase orders and confirm receipt of goods and services, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with university procedures.
  • Journal Entries: Process journal entries, accurately recording financial transactions and maintaining a clear audit trail.
  • Non-PO Invoices: Process non-purchase order invoices, ensuring timely payment and compliance with university policies.
  • Deposits and Journal Entries: Prepare deposits and initiate journal entries, accurately recording financial transactions and maintaining a clear audit trail.
  • General Funds Reports: Provide general funds reports to faculty, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Budget Monitoring: Monitor budgets, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with university policies.
  • Consultation and Support: Consult with the Administrative Manager to address questions or concerns, providing expert financial guidance and support.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or higher, plus 2 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team Player: A team player with a commitment to creating a positive and efficient working environment.
