Correctional Housing Unit Manager II

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills. As a Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a correctional housing unit, ensuring the safety and security of staff and inmates, and providing support to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager III.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the operations of a correctional housing unit, including supervising staff and ensuring the unit is running smoothly.
- Conduct investigations and oversee leave schedules.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to staff.
- Implement programmatic and operational orientations for offenders, including education, mental health, and work assignments.
- Ensure proper protocol is followed regarding security and control of protective equipment.
Requirements:
- High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
- Five years of correctional experience, two of which must have been at the supervisory level.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
