About the Role

At Zillow Group, we're reimagining real estate to make home a reality for more people. As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in driving innovation and improving developer experience. You'll lead engineering teams in deploying and operating services efficiently and reliably, architecting cloud infrastructure for scalability and performance, and collaborating across teams to drive technical consensus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering teams in deploying and operating services efficiently and reliably.
  • Architect, build, and guide the development of cloud infrastructure to ensure its scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate across teams to drive technical consensus around architecture and technology decisions.
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning of new services, helping to diagnose and debug production issues.
  • Enhance the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our core systems, with a focus on infrastructure automation.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of growth and technical excellence across the organization.
  • Drive the implementation of DevOps across the company, advocating for infrastructure best practices.

Requirements:

  • A problem solver with exceptional analytical and debugging skills.
  • Passionate about improving developer experience and infrastructure reliability.
  • Adaptable to new technologies and able to quickly learn and implement new tools.
  • Extensive experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise with Kubernetes, Golang, Istio, Terraform, and AWS services.
  • Experience designing, developing, and scaling robust infrastructure systems.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud infrastructure best practices.
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
