Position Title: Employment Coach/Retail Sales Mentor

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Vice President of Social Enterprises

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Employment Type: Part-Time (approximately hours per week) with some weekend availability required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree preferred or equivalent life experience in human services.
  • Prior retail experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong independent assessment, observation, and organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to exercise discretion and work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple job demands in a fast-paced setting. May require transporting individuals in a personal vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Job Objective: To support the programs of Futures, Inc. consumers under the guidance of the Vice President of Social Enterprises. Provides job coaching services at retail locations and vendor events. Aids consumers in executing their programs, including behavioral plans through direct service, performance monitoring, and adherence to policy protocols; exercising discretion and independent judgment in assigned areas; and delivering necessary follow-up and feedback to facilitate achievement of outcomes.

Retail Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Vice President of Social Enterprises as needed in the daily operations of the retail environment.
  • Supervise and train adult consumers to engage with the public in selecting gifts and merchandise in the store and at vendor events, including using the POS system for transactions.
  • Support the store manager and assigned consumers in the seasonal display and presentation of merchandise.
  • Participate in vendor events with assigned consumers as necessary, supervising employees with disabilities to encourage interaction and the development of both social and employment skills.
  • Under the direction of the store manager, guide sales associates (consumers) with disabilities in stocking display merchandise and assisting customers with their purchases.
