Job Overview

This role is part of our Blue Origin Engines business unit, focusing on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Our family of engines powers the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

Duties and Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Develop and manage engine system requirements and interfaces.">
  • Implement systems engineering activities according to standards and practices.">
  • Support gated reviews and ensure test programs align with system requirements.">
  • Act as a negotiator between conflicting interests to optimize the system.">
  • Create interface definition and design specification documents.">
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges.">
  • Track and report system metrics.">

Requirements

">
  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.">
  • 5+ years of system development/integration experience.">
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies in a safety-critical environment.">
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams.">
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead teams.">
  • Experience with systems engineering tools and Atlassian collaboration tools.">
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships.">
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.">

Preferred Qualifications

">
  • ">
  • 2+ years of experience with liquid rocket engines or propulsion.">
  • Experience with valves, hydraulics, or electrical systems.">
  • Experience with environmental testing per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D, or MIL-STD-810G.">
  • Strong technical fundamentals in fluids, thermodynamics, vibroacoustics, and mechanical/electrical components.">
  • System Safety analysis experience.">
  • Demonstrated project leadership and configuration management experience.">
  • Experience with failure investigations.">

Compensation and Benefits

">

Salary Range: $120,060 - $168,084 (CA/WA applicants).

">

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with company match, and an Education Support Program.

Paid Time Off: Up to four weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
