Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse with Alameda Health System, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will administer medications, perform various medical procedures, and provide essential care to patients in our hospital or clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer care according to designated instructions and nursing care plans, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  2. Assist physicians and clinicians in examinations and medical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict protocols.
  3. Provide bedside care, including bathing, changing patients' clothing, and other hygiene procedures, while promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  4. Obtain patient histories, take vital signs, and perform various tests, such as urine testing and blood draws, while maintaining accurate patient records.
  5. Read patient charts and records to note condition and treatments, medications, special diets, and procedures ordered by physicians.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a valid license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of California and possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited LVN program
  • Minimum experience: Graduate from a school of vocational nursing within the last twelve months prior to hire date, or have had recent vocational nursing refresher courses, or have had recent related experience in an acute facility or Employee Health Services
  • Required licenses/certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and CPI training
