POSITION SUMMARY:


The Floor Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing specialized cleaning projects, focusing on floor care and upkeep, alongside various detailed cleaning assignments such as pressure washing.

The main objective of this role is to deliver expertise in floor maintenance while ensuring that all tasks are performed to the utmost standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure exceptional cleanliness of all hard and soft surfaces within the facility, including: utilizing ride-on scrubbers for concourses, operating walk-behind scrubbers in clubs, performing carpet extraction and spot cleaning, as well as stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, and cleaning grout.
  • Exhibit safe and proper usage of equipment and various floor care techniques.
  • Conduct detailed cleaning of corners and edges in all work areas.
  • Maintain stairwells and elevators, ensuring tracks and cabs are clean.
  • Physically carry out all floor care tasks in alignment with company policies and manufacturer maintenance guidelines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Keep equipment clean and ensure it operates effectively.
  • Promptly inform supervisors of any worn or damaged equipment.
  • Manage keys, combinations, and equipment control responsibly.
  • Secure the premises upon completion of work.
  • Foster positive relationships with patrons of the facility.
  • Address customer feedback and complaints effectively.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with service contractors and suppliers associated with the facility.
  • Execute additional tasks as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in floor care is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary to support team objectives.
  • Physical capability to perform general tasks outlined in this posting.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with both customers and colleagues.
  • Priority will be given to qualified residents of the Promise Zone.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falls. Requires mobility, flexibility, and the ability to climb ladders.

Stooping:
Bending the body downward and forward at the waist.

Kneeling:
Bending legs at the knee to rest on one or both knees.

Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.

Reaching:
Extending hands and arms in any direction.

Standing:
Remaining upright on feet, particularly for extended periods.

Walking:
Moving about on foot to complete tasks or transition between work sites.

  • Ability to lift and push up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.

HEARING:

The ability to listen to and comprehend information and ideas presented in English, both in person and over the phone, is required.


SPEAKING:

The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in person and over the phone, is essential.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This role involves both indoor and outdoor work. Employees may encounter various environmental conditions such as heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, wind, and humidity.
  • Employees will work with a range of cleaning chemicals.
  • Operation of power equipment, including floor machines, buffers, and other power tools, is required.
  • Work schedules may vary.
  • Availability for early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays, may be necessary.
