Job Overview:
Manager of Instrumentation and Controls

This position is based in our operational offices.

Relocation assistance may be evaluated on an individual basis.

As a Manager of Instrumentation and Controls, you will be part of a team that will challenge you and facilitate your growth.

Key Responsibilities:


Lead a team of engineers across diverse industries through the complete project lifecycle, including conceptual studies, specifications, development, integration, testing, and commissioning.

Oversee and support projects, including planning, scheduling, establishing technical standards, and managing productivity and workloads.


Ensure effective design coordination with technical delivery team leads and project design managers; conduct regular design progress milestone reviews.

Take responsibility for the overall success of the team and project managers.

Communicate project updates to both the project team and clients.


Assist in preparing proposals for new scopes of work, defining activity scopes, and estimating necessary effort levels.

Identify when additional or out-of-scope engineering work is requested or performed; assist project managers with change management.

Apply comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed workgroups in support of related operations.

Support recruitment efforts.

Develop training objectives and strategies, mentoring and guiding team members.

Make a daily impact with your skills and expertise, strengthening relationships with clients and team members.

Qualifications:


A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and producing construction document packages for industrial design within high-tech, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical sectors.


Solid understanding of complex architecture & design process systems, instrumentation, device selection, networking, PLC & I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA.

Experience overseeing projects that integrate engineering, design, and programming of automated manufacturing systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

Proven experience in developing robust client relationships.

Experience as an Engineer of Record.


Willingness to travel for project requirements, including installation and commissioning activities, client and company-sponsored meetings, training sessions, industry seminars, forums, and conventions.

A Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical, Electronic, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

A professional engineer (PE) license and a willingness to obtain additional PE licenses in other states.
