Overview:


The American Institute of Architects is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Architectural Engineering Technology. This role emphasizes architectural design for human habitation, engineering building science, sustainable practices in the built environment, and construction management.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student achievement through exceptional teaching, research, mentorship, and program support. A proven ability to engage effectively with a diverse student population is essential.

Involvement in curriculum development, program assessment, academic advising, student recruitment, and participation in scholarly activities and departmental initiatives is expected.


Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching responsibilities (24 semester hours of instructional credit per academic year) and preparation for classroom instruction.
- Provide academic support, including advising students.
- Engage in curriculum review, program evaluations, and assessment of student outcomes.
- Attend university events, including commencement and faculty meetings.
- Serve on university committees as assigned.
- Participate in orientation and registration programs.
- Mentor student organizations, clubs, and competition teams.
- Engage in recruitment activities.
- Contribute to the ABET accreditation process.
- Maintain ongoing scholarship and professional development, which may include contributions to the discipline, involvement in professional organizations, public service, and enhancing the professional growth of the university community.
- Opportunities to teach during summer, winter terms, online, and in evening courses for both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in online course development and college-level teaching is preferred.
- Ability to incorporate relevant technology and software into teaching practices.
- Experience in developing inclusive curriculum and course materials is desirable.
- Evidence of service and/or research related to diverse, multicultural populations is preferred.
- A commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the position, and evidence of scholarly or creative activity.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
- Capacity to conduct research and publications that engage undergraduate students.
- Preference will be given to candidates with successful teaching experience in accredited programs and relevant industry experience.
