We are seeking a skilled Server to join our team at the acclaimed restaurant, Corner Bar. Located in the heart of New York City, our restaurant offers a warm and cosmopolitan setting that lends itself to everything from relaxed breakfasts to feasts over martinis and platters of fruits de mer.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests while upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. This includes taking orders accurately and orderly, making educated menu recommendations, ensuring all food and beverage orders are fulfilled, and providing attentive and quality service to all guests during their experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Taking Guest Orders: Take guest orders in an accurate and orderly manner to ensure seamless service.
  • Menu Recommendations: Make educated menu recommendations to guests based on their preferences and dietary needs.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Ensure all food and beverage orders are fulfilled and uphold quality standards.
  • Guest Service: Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their experience.

Preliminary Work:

  • Occupational Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards.
  • Pre-Shift Meetings: Participate actively during pre-shift meetings to stay informed about menus, promotions, and other important details.
  • Restaurant Trainings: Participate in restaurant service and team trainings to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Communication: Maintain consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities.

Guest Satisfaction:

  • Courteous Service: Ensure all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service.
  • Customer Concerns: Respond positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints.
  • Food Allergies: Communicate any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff.
  • Welcoming Environment: Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment.
  • Relationship Building: Build relationships with repeat guests.

Service Standards:

  • Cleanliness and Appearance: Act as part of the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant before, during, and after service.
  • Side Work: Reliably complete all assigned side work.
  • Company Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Department of Health Standards: Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards.
