Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer II, SRE to join our team at GEICO. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation
    • Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions using AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid data centers.
    • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure architecture, including container orchestration, service integrations, and communication standards.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance
    • Ensure cloud-based systems meet security and compliance requirements, including data encryption, access controls, and auditing.
    • Implement security best practices and monitor cloud infrastructure for potential security threats.
  • Cloud Operations and Maintenance
    • Monitor and maintain cloud-based systems, including performance, scalability, and reliability.
    • Develop and implement scripts and automation tools to streamline cloud operations and maintenance.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure cloud infrastructure meets business requirements.
    • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders and customers.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
  • Experience
    • 2+ years of professional experience in software development, platform architecture, administration, and maintenance of software and its ecosystem.
    • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid data centers.
    • 1+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
  • Skills
    • Knowledge of modern programming languages, including Python, Go, Java, and C++.
    • Understanding of container orchestration, service integrations, and communication standards.
    • Experience with cloud security and compliance, including data encryption, access controls, and auditing.
    • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure architecture, including cloud providers, services, and tools.
    • Experience with automation tools, including Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills.
