Job Title: Appliance Technician

At Saint John's On The Lake, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Appliance Technician to join our team. As an Appliance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining all commercial and residential appliances at an optimal level in our high-rise structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on commercial appliances
  • Diagnose and repair commercial and residential appliances
  • Acquire new appliances and manage warehousing of appliances and appliance parts
  • Facilitate the liquidation or scrapping of appliances and other materials
  • Provide instruction and guidance to residents and staff on the proper use of appliances
  • Maintain appliance warehousing and repair area in an organized, safe, and clean condition
  • Assist with general maintenance of the facility, including PM rounds, set-ups, and snow removal
  • Respond to building alarms and emergency assistance calls, participate in fire drills, and respond to building-related emergencies
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations and with the highest level of quality workmanship
  • Work cooperatively with residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and all levels of staff to achieve Saint John's strategic objectives and daily tasks
  • Assure that all resident rights are maintained at all times and report any violations or suspected deviations immediately, according to Saint John's policy
  • Comply with all Saint John's safety, security, infection control, and hazardous materials policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality of department and organization information, and attend meetings and in-service programs
  • Responsible for continuous self-improvement through formal education, training, seminars, and active participation in professional or related organizations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • Technical degree in Appliance Repair or a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Two years of experience in a service-oriented trade
  • Must possess OSHA 30 Hour General Industry training or acquire within one year of employment
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to read, speak, and write English
  • Must possess general computer skills
  • Must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin Driver's License
  • Must be highly professional in actions and attire, have excellent customer service skills, be honest, dependable, and exhibit a warm, cheerful, caring manner and desire to work with and serve older adults
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing organizational needs, work flexible hours to meet the scheduling requirements, and be on-call to handle problems that may arise outside regular work hours
