Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Equipment Repair Specialist to join our team at SITE Staffing. As a Winding Repair Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting and repairing electrical equipment, including windings, to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Equipment: Inspect various kinds of equipment for damage and evidence of electrical or mechanical failure, and perform company-specified electrical tests and core loss tests.
  • Document and Record Data: Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to the unit's characteristics, including coil, wedge, filler, and physical winding dimensions, as well as winding connection data.
  • Repair and Replace Parts: Dismantle and/or strip damaged and burned out windings, prepare reusable parts for rewind, and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.
  • Assemble and Test Equipment: Insert form and random wound coils into the rotor or stator core, layout and braze the winding connections, and test rewound equipment according to standards.
  • Complete Required Paperwork: Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Operate Specialized Equipment: Operate specialized repair and testing equipment.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Knowledge: 2 years of experience in mechanical knowledge is required.
  • Winding Repair Experience: 1 year of experience in winding repair is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to squat, kneel, and crawl to service equipment from below (up to 20% of shift), bend and twist with torque to service equipment and to reach into awkward areas (up to 30% of shift), climb stairs, ladders, and/or steps to get up onto equipment (up to 5% of shift), work below, at, and above shoulder level to maintain equipment (up to 90% of shift), push, pull, reach, and grasp with hands to use hand tools (up to 50% of shift), lift 30-50 pounds individually or up to 100 lbs in a two-man lift (up to 50% of shift), stand while working on equipment (up to 90% of shift), and manipulate small/delicate parts with hands (up to 5% of shift).
