About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Greek House Chefs. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, including overseeing kitchen operations and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, including overseeing kitchen operations and supervising staff.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and ensure that all food preparation and presentation meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Supervise staff and provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff members.
  • Assist with menu preparation and ensure that all menu items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Monitor ordering and stocking needs and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are properly stored and managed.
  • Ensure food safety and quality by following proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors and ensure that all deliveries are received and stored properly.
  • Assist with scheduling and time management of staff and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of line cook experience required.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand over 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to walk over 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs under 1/3 of the time.
