Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Not specified
Compensation: $19-$20 per hour
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

Compensation Details: Pay rate is determined by experience and educational background.

Key Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Technician, your primary duties will include:

  • Receiving, sorting, and preparing samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Conducting routine maintenance on laboratory instruments.
  • Centrifuging samples, generating labels, and documenting temperature readings.
  • Preparing necessary reagents and media for testing procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of specimens at workstations, including aliquoting and slide preparation.
  • Performing quality assurance and quality control tasks as assigned.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to decontamination protocols.
  • Handling biohazardous materials and executing radioactive wipe tests.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; training in medical assistance is a plus; coursework in mathematics and sciences is preferred.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and enhance workstation productivity.
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to retain critical information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and basic computer operations.
  • Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety regulations is mandatory.
