Job Summary

As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the tissue and viral culture of Chicken Embryo Fibroblast (CEF) cells for Marek's Disease vaccine production in a clean room laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform aseptic technique and clean room laboratory work, including gowning with sterile hooded coveralls, goggles, face-mask, two pairs of gloves, and clean room boot coverings.
  • Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Assurance SOPs, Marek's Laboratory Support SOPs, and other SOPs as applicable.
  • Document all procedures thoroughly, ensuring legibility and concurrency.
  • Assist in the preparation of growth medium and cryoprotectant medium for various vaccine production processes.
  • Work closely with Marek's Laboratory Support Technicians, including dishware preparation outside of the clean room laboratory and helping with the process of placing filled ampoules on cryogenic vial canes.
  • Provide weekend and shift coverage, rotating shifts as needed, and participating in multiple vaccine lot productions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required; Associates degree in a life-science field is a plus.
  • Laboratory manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English.
  • Frequent repetitions of squatting, bending, and twisting, as well as fine motor movement, lifting 30 lbs, and standing for approximately 85% of the day.
Working Conditions

Clean room manufacturing laboratory environment with occasional travel required.
