Metrology Technician II

At ICON Clinical Research, we are seeking a highly skilled Metrology Technician II to join our team. As a Metrology Technician II, you will be responsible for the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment in accordance with SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate and maintain assigned laboratory equipment in laboratories.
- Act as an escort for the approved vendor performing required external calibration.
- Update the calibration schedule and equipment lists as work is performed.
- Monitor, calibrate and maintain assigned equipment (e.g., freezers, refrigerators, pipettes, balances, water system, thermometers, weights, ovens, temperature and humidity monitors, REES Environmental system).
- Review calibration notebooks per applicable SOPs/procedures.
- May participate in client or regulatory audits with the Quality Assurance department.
- May be on call for the REES Environmental system.
- May participate in client and regulatory audits/tours by providing metrology-related documentation.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of lab or systems experience in a bioanalytical lab with at least 1-2 years of systems validation and/or calibration experience.
- 2-year or Associates Degree in a Science field.
- Experience with freezers, balances, plate washers and readers (these two can be trained) and other similar lab experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Have the ability and desire to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Sense of urgency in performance of duties.
- Interpersonal skills that promote a collaborative and productive lab environment.
