Join Our Team as a Graduate Structural Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team at Arup. As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from concept to completion, and contribute to the design and development of innovative structural solutions.

About the Role
  • Design and develop structural systems and perform structural analysis within a team of engineers
  • Deliver high-quality structural engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and presentations
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure successful project delivery
  • Attend meetings and learn from listening, asking questions, and discussion
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary design team to develop sustainable solutions
  • Continually develop new skills and experience through Arup University, Arup Structural Skills Network, and on-the-job learning
  • Learn and understand local and international codes and regulations
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
  • Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design, and advanced reinforced concrete design
  • Professional demeanor
  • Skills in planning and organizing
  • Ability to perform in a deadline environment
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
  • Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work, and exceptional organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
  • Coursework in structural dynamics and earthquake engineering preferred
  • 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
  • FE/EIT certification preferred
  • Structural software skills, Revit skills, 3D modeling skills (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.), coding skills (MySQL, Python, etc.), AutoCAD skills preferred
  • Past internship with a design firm or extracurricular activity in the field preferred
  • Past history of technical presentations and technical writing preferred
  • Personal engagement in an academic, volunteer, or extracurricular field preferred
  • Ability to visually communicate through a variety of media preferred
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future

Seattle Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle, WA is $72,500 to $79,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle, WA will differ.
