Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Check Services unit within the Federal Tax Reporting and Escheat Services team. This role focuses on managing our banking processes related to check forgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather notarized documentation from payees affected by forged checks for submission to financial institutions.
  • Monitor and follow up on cases to ensure timely receipt of bank credits.
  • Coordinate repayments to payees once funds are returned by the bank, maintaining communication regarding repayment status.
  • Handle denials and submit appeals as necessary.
  • Track and process unsolicited bank credits for check payments as they are received.
  • Investigate reasons for bank returns and submit requests for repayments when applicable.
  • Assist the accounting team by reporting credits received from forgery and unsolicited bank credits monthly.
  • Reconcile and manage missing bank credit transmittals reported by accounting.
  • Provide backup support for daily Reverse Positive Pay banking activities as required.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task to efficiently complete workload.
  • Contribute ideas for the development of technical policies and procedures within the unit.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with customers and internal partners to maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Deliver professional, prompt, and accurate service to all internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant work experience

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience in banking, treasury, accounts payable, SIU, tax, or finance

• Proficiency in Excel and Access

• Familiarity with CRS, EPDB, HRP, and GPS systems is advantageous

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience

Compensation

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43, $93,574.80

This range represents the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade. Actual salary offers will vary based on experience, education, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
