Position Overview:

The World Bank Group is seeking to hire three Analysts to support its mission of enhancing development outcomes through rigorous evaluation practices. This role is pivotal in analyzing data and providing insights that contribute to the effectiveness of our operational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in data extraction, cleansing, and analysis to support evaluation projects.
  • Collaborate with the IEG Methods Advisory Function team to apply advanced analytical techniques, including text mining and machine learning.
  • Design and implement evaluation frameworks based on established methodologies, contributing to hypothesis development and testing.
  • Extract and analyze macroeconomic and sectoral data from various internal and external databases.
  • Develop analytical protocols and codebooks for data management and evaluation purposes.
  • Conduct comprehensive portfolio reviews, managing and processing data related to evaluation questions.
  • Create visual representations of data findings, including charts and graphs, to effectively communicate insights.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communication materials, ensuring clarity and precision in documentation.
  • Participate in team discussions and contribute to case study analyses, enhancing collaborative efforts.
  • Support the dissemination of findings through presentations and written materials.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience with World Bank operations data and familiarity with relevant instruments and project cycles.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages, including R and Python.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on technical reporting.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, with a quantitative focus, is preferred.
