The AWS SOC operates year-round, necessitating shift work that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the candidate will manage analysts across different shifts, including overnight.

Key Responsibilities:

As an AWS Security Operations Supervisor, you will implement security strategies and procedures aligned with service level agreements, policies, standards, and operational protocols.

You will oversee communications, security responses, and escalations, facilitate operational requirements, manage trouble tickets, and provide additional services as necessary.


Specifically, the Security Operations Supervisor will:

  • Lead and manage security strategies and processes in accordance with established service level agreements and operational protocols.
  • Collaborate with the AWS SOC Operations Team to respond to physical security incidents across the AWS data center network.
  • Manage the administrative functions of a small, agile team, including staffing, scheduling, performance management, training, and development.
  • Analyze security findings, research mitigations, and assess potential vulnerabilities from various sources to address root causes.
  • Handle high-security incidents, communicate risks to stakeholders, and escalate issues to ensure effective mitigation.
  • Employ a security-focused mindset to evaluate risks across the organization and escalate as necessary.
  • Develop innovative solutions to security challenges through technology or process enhancements.
  • Prepare progress reports, briefs, and documentation regarding security issues and operational improvement opportunities affecting AWS data center operations.
  • Collaborate closely with other Amazon security and service teams to address AWS security posture concerns and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
  • Interface with technical teams and leadership to translate security mitigation strategies into actionable tasks.
  • Provide technical support to customers through various communication channels and utilize knowledge of IT systems for troubleshooting.
