POSITION TITLE: Culinary Specialist II
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time / Permanent
RESTAURANT: Breezes Restaurant & Bar
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This role involves the daily preparation of all bulk food items in accordance with company standards, as well as the preparation of buffet selections and a la carte dishes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret food order slips or receive verbal instructions regarding food requirements from patrons, preparing and cooking meals as per guidelines and recipes while managing multiple orders simultaneously. Prepare specialty dishes that typically require brief preparation times. Ensure that the prepared food meets the established quality and quantity standards.
- Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients designated for cooking; maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
- Adhere to sanitation, health, and safety regulations in the kitchen; clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Utilize large-scale cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, and griddles.
- Coordinate cooking schedules and equipment usage with management, utilizing daily menu information to optimize cooking times.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience, or a combination of training, education, and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Any relevant certifications are advantageous.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines in task execution.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- General knowledge of kitchen equipment is essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
