We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Astrophysics Inc., a leading global designer and manufacturer of X-Ray security inspection systems.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, improving, and troubleshooting our X-Ray systems, including building prototypes, testing new designs, creating reports, and assisting the manufacturing floor with malfunctioning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles to research, design, develop, and test electrical/electronic subsystems for our X-Ray systems, ensuring high standards in quality and low costs.
  • Resolve engineering problems that arise during the product development cycle and address concerns from operations and manufacturing personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including ECRs, ENFs, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide training to manufacturing personnel and others on the assembly and testing of new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with software engineers on the integration between software and electrical control systems.
  • Evaluate new system performance and assist with custom installations or services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency with standard electronic testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, frequency generators, and PCB manufacturing/design skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio.
