Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Water business team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and engineering impactful projects that range in size and complexity. Your duties will include responsibility for project deliverables as Engineer-of-Record, applying detailed electrical engineering knowledge, concepts, and professional judgment acquired through experience to size, evaluate, select, and specify electrical systems for use on assigned projects in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select, specify, and review shop drawings for electrical systems and products for a project.
  • Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Utilize technologies in development of three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various phases of design and construction, including plans, single line diagrams, ladder control schematics, equipment layouts, and details.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  • Prepare and coordinate the project specifications with construction documents.
  • Conduct reviews required to assess field conditions.
  • Conduct construction phase services, responds to RFIs, reviews shop drawings, and conducts reviews of construction for general conformance with design.
Qualifications
  • Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of industry standards as well as electrical and building codes.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, specifically in the municipal water/wastewater industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, the National Electrical Code, California Title 24, means and methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly related to the water/wastewater industry.
  • Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and interview skills.
  • Well-versed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoDesk products (i.e. AutoCAD) and/or Bentley products (i.e. Microstation).
  • Familiarity with Revit is an asset.
  • Experience with specialized power system software such as ETAP and/or SKM PowerTools is an asset.
