Job Overview
Key Responsibilities

This position is designated for WOW (Work on Weekends) employees, requiring work every Saturday and Sunday. WOW staff receive premium compensation in addition to standard hourly wages and shift differentials.

The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in initiating respiratory protocols and assessing protocol procedures across various therapy modalities. This role involves collaboration with the patient care team to evaluate, formulate care strategies, and assess the suitability of respiratory care methods, as well as assisting with discharge planning when necessary. The practitioner is responsible for educating patients and their families about medications and therapy techniques tailored to their learning needs. Additionally, this role includes participation in quality care monitoring, organizing workflow for seamless shift transitions, and supporting daily operations of respiratory care services through meticulous documentation, patient billing processes, supply and medication management, and other assigned tasks. Continuous knowledge enhancement through departmental communication tools is essential. The practitioner should identify challenges and propose effective solutions while demonstrating strong critical thinking abilities. Participation in training sessions is also expected.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum one year of experience in respiratory care
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Certification in either ACCS or NPS
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (National)
  • State Respiratory Therapist License (KY)
Preferred:
  • Three years of respiratory care experience, including critical care
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program
