Position Overview

The Manufacturing Assembly Specialist will interpret blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to gather components, assemble, disassemble, and execute minor modifications on a range of standard parts.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently execute bench and floor tasks as assigned to assemble, construct, build, and repair components for degassing equipment, metal pumps, and similar units. This may involve tasks such as grinding, sanding, mixing, cementing, wrapping, painting, and laminating.
  • Accurately set up and/or modify equipment to ensure parts are altered or adjusted correctly by inspecting them for a specified fit or specification range based on blueprints.
  • Collaborate willingly with other assembly projects as necessary.
  • Safely operate hoists and tow motors to transport parts and materials.
  • Conduct functionality tests with precision and work alongside quality inspectors.
  • Perform general clean-up tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain precise inventory levels utilizing barcode technology.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) / Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in manufacturing and/or carpentry is preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and sketches. Proficient in using measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes. Capability to obtain tow motor certification. Proficient in using barcode scanners for logging parts and scales for entering measurements into databases.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage positively and work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals at all organizational levels. Uphold high ethical standards and values, demonstrating personal integrity and honesty. Apply common sense effectively in various situations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations, listen attentively, and respond effectively to inquiries.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using barcode scanners for logging parts.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in managing proprietary and confidential information. Capable of working independently with minimal direction and utilizing resources effectively to solve problems. Strong critical thinking skills, judgment, and keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical and Sensory Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, stand and walk for extended periods on hard surfaces, and communicate effectively in English via telephone, in person, and in writing. Proficiently use a personal computer, office equipment, and telephone.

Work Environment
Work in a manufacturing setting where the following conditions apply: presence of natural and artificial light, exposure to varying temperatures, light to moderate amounts of airborne graphite dust, and moderate background noise. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
