A Day in the Life of a Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions Professional

As a Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the company's growth strategy through strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and divestitures.

  • Lead the development and execution of business development and M&A strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management teams, investors, and industry experts.
  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support M&A transactions and strategic partnerships.
  • Manage the due diligence process, including reviewing financial statements, contracts, and other relevant documents.
  • Develop and implement post-merger integration plans to ensure a smooth transition and maximize synergies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's business strategy, industry trends, and market dynamics.
  • Identify and prioritize potential acquisition targets and strategic partnerships based on their alignment with the company's growth strategy.
  • Lead the development of financial models and analysis to support M&A transactions and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement post-merger integration plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management teams, investors, and industry experts.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in business development and M&A, with a strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of the company's business strategy, industry trends, and market dynamics.

  • High level of excel proficiency, including pivot tables and other tools to analyze data.
  • Understanding of manufacturing environment and associated financial reporting metrics.
  • Existing or ability to form key relationships transcending various functional groups within the Hubbell organization.
  • Ability to distill and present detailed business analysis and modeling into a form consumable by senior management at Hubbell.
  • Ability to work independently and meet evolving and short-term deadlines.
