We are seeking an exceptional Curriculum Developer and Facilitator to join our team at Aspire Chicago, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing daily living skills and independence for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for designing personalized curricula based on each individual's unique strengths and goals. Your expertise will empower growth and promote self-sufficiency, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, coaching direct support staff, and shaping a brighter future for those we serve.

Job Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. You will develop and implement curricula designed to promote skill development for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, enhance daily life, and create customized curricula based on individual strengths and needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement curricula that promote skill development and enhance daily life for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
  • Training and Coaching: Provide training and coaching to direct support staff on standards and norms, ensuring they have the necessary skills to deliver activities effectively.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Evaluate and assess individuals for interests, dreams, goals, skill strengths, and areas of needed skill development, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Outcome Measurement: Create and score outcome measurement tools to monitor individual progress and effectiveness of curricula.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2-3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Illinois Driver's License with a good driving record.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships with all stakeholders, interact positively with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing work.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with teams, motivate others, and foster a positive work environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

Aspire Chicago offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, benefit time, 13 holidays, 403(B) retirement savings plan, disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance program, and voluntary insurances available.
