Estimated Salary Range

$41,600 to $53,000 per year, paid bi-weekly, based on a 20-25 hour workweek.

Job Description

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our mission by offering immediate support and advocacy within our shelter. Your focus will be on empowering survivors, ensuring their safety, and facilitating their transition to independence, all while maintaining a compassionate and secure environment.

  • You will develop safety plans and manage cases for comprehensive client support.
  • Provide crisis counseling, advocacy, and connect clients with community resources.
  • Offer legal referrals and assist with DHS benefits.
  • Educate on domestic violence laws.
  • Manage shelter operations, engage in community building, and handle donations.
  • Conduct client evaluations and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy with a focus on client empowerment through counseling and active listening.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution abilities, handling crises with sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Cultural competence, ethical practice, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
