Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain all necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Assist with delegated patient education, including distributing educational literature.
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including hormones and biological growth factors.
  • Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Process instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
  • Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions and schedule appointments to follow-up on receipt of test results, as applicable.
  • Obtain new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.
  • Minimum two years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Current CPR certification required.
