Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Reception: Welcome patients warmly and professionally upon their arrival. Confirm and update patient demographic and insurance information, assisting with the completion of necessary registration forms.
- Appointment Management: Efficiently schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal time slots and provider availability. Facilitate the coordination of follow-up appointments, referrals, and necessary diagnostic tests as instructed by healthcare professionals. Ensure appointment confirmations are communicated to patients through appropriate channels.
- Insurance Processing: Conduct thorough verification of patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits using electronic systems or direct communication with insurance providers. Secure pre-authorizations and referrals for medical services as mandated by insurance policies.
- Patient Interaction: Handle incoming calls and address patient inquiries promptly and professionally. Provide clear information regarding appointment scheduling, office policies, and available services. Relay important messages to healthcare providers and clinical staff as required.
- Administrative Assistance: Support various administrative functions, including filing, faxing, scanning, and organizing patient records. Ensure the front desk area and waiting room are maintained in a clean and organized manner. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or healthcare providers.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or certification in healthcare administration is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or administrative capacity, ideally within a healthcare or medical office context.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
