About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Guest Services Associate to join our team at Omaha Children's Hospital. As a key member of our hospital community, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients, families, and visitors receive exceptional care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and Supporting Visitors
    • Welcome and support visitors, including patients, families, vendors, and staff, in a warm and reassuring manner.
    • Assist visitors in getting where they need to go, confirming appointment times and locations as needed.
    • Proactively provide guidance on facility policies and procedures, such as offering a mask or mentioning visiting hours.
    • Inform visitors of guest services that could enhance their experiences, such as food options, facility navigation, and programming services.
  • Overseeing Guest Areas
    • Tidy up guest areas, including picking up trash, wiping down seating areas, and maintaining guest offerings such as television programming and coffee stations.
    • Be responsible for visitors in the area, offering assistance and ensuring that any staff for whom they are waiting are aware.
  • Assisting Phone Callers
    • Assist phone callers with inquiries, locations, and directions.
  • Handling Materials and Supplies
    • Accept, record, and handle materials delivered to the desk to support desired outcomes.
    • Stock area supplies, including office materials, distraction toys, first aid supplies, and linens.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in public relations, human services, communications, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work well with others and promote the hospital as a whole.
    • Knowledge of basic computer commands and ability to learn job-specific programs.
    • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information relating to all aspects of the position.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a varied audience both verbally and in writing.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • BCLS - Basic Life Support preferred.
