We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Security Technician II to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic security systems statewide.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with planning and implementing projects from design through installation, ensuring the overall health of the project.
- Report on project progress, track spending, and document all data associated with each project.
- Install, configure, maintain, and administer physical security servers, including installing video platform applications and applying security vulnerability patches.
- Maintain and program cameras, AI phones, access control equipment, and all associated security devices.
- Define and manage user roles and access levels for video applications on servers and access control systems.
- Conduct training for Electronic Security Technicians and end users on access control systems and video management software.
- Monitor and track physical security servers, access control components, and camera equipment for end-of-life and report to management for funding to replace or upgrade equipment and licenses.
- Assist with special investigation requests and internal audits for internal divisions and external agencies on shared access control and video platforms.
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree with a major or coursework emphasis in electronics or computer management systems preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience performing technical installation of security access control and video surveillance equipment.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
- Working knowledge of TXDPS, State, and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems.
- Ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy, and establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Organized, flexible, and able to effectively prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment.
- Ability to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations and/or communications to a variety of audiences and/or individuals.

Ability to transfer weights of thirty (30) pounds and the ability to work in concert with others to move cumbersome and heavy equipment (up to 200 pounds) safely in a variety of conditions such as steep stairwells and in loading and unloading vehicles.
Driving requirements: Extensive (30-60%); may also be transported by Agency Aircraft.
