Job Title: Electronics Technician III

Austin Energy is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our physical security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our physical assets and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various electronic security systems
  • Managing entry points to restricted areas, including doors and gates
  • Installing and maintaining cameras, video recorders, and related equipment to monitor activity on the property
  • Intrusion detection systems, including setting up alarms, sensors, and other devices to detect unauthorized entry or breaches
  • Fire and safety systems, including installing and maintaining fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other safety equipment

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus four (4) years experience in repair and maintenance of electronics
  • Twelve (12) semester hours of college credit in electronics, communications technology, engineering technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience up to a maximum of two (2) years
  • Licenses or certifications: None

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure, and security best practices
  • Proficiency in different security system programming and databases for customizing security systems
  • Experience in physical security systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with various security technologies, including access control systems, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems

  • 50% flexible telework schedule
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
