The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Hydronic Piping and Sheet Metal, along with a solid grasp of Mechanical / HVAC system components. This role will involve spearheading the estimation process for various commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to ascertain the scope of work and necessary estimate components.
  • Prepare comprehensive MEP, HVAC, Sheet Metal, and Hydronic Piping scopes of work along with supporting documentation for review.
  • Solicit and evaluate project-specific proposals from subcontractors and suppliers for completeness and competitiveness.
  • Develop alternatives and recommend optimal solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or material availability.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers while adhering to ethical practices.
  • Support Operations with awarded contracts and projects as needed, including estimating change orders and resolving contractual issues.
  • Track and assist with awarded contracts and projects, which may involve estimating extra work items, change orders, and procuring materials.
  • Collaborate with the Proposal Coordinator to create comprehensive professional proposals, including all necessary information such as schedules and project narratives.
  • Develop thorough conceptual proposals to aid in business development and client retention.
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools, is essential; experience with On Screen Takeoff and/or MC2 software is preferred.
  • A robust understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques, and cost control is necessary.
  • Ability to prepare proposals with minimal supervision while being comfortable working in team settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to clearly articulate bid inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications with stakeholders.
  • Must be adept at multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of estimating experience.
