Job Title: Senior Intelligence Analyst

Position Overview:
This role is designed to integrate essential counterterrorism and criminal intelligence resources from various levels of government and private sectors to enhance information gathering, prioritization, classification, analysis, and dissemination, thereby strengthening defenses against terrorist and criminal threats. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain at least a Secret level national security clearance. This is a five-year contract position, contingent upon award.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist law enforcement investigations, promote interdisciplinary collaborations, and develop intelligence products and presentations for the Northern Virginia area. To achieve these objectives, the role will involve:
  • Facilitating the sharing of criminal, terrorism, cyber, and critical infrastructure intelligence among fusion centers, law enforcement, public safety, homeland security partners, and private sector stakeholders in the Northern Virginia area.
  • Conducting comprehensive data analysis to identify methods, trends, and patterns relevant to the Northern Virginia region.
  • Producing reports and conducting research projects related to criminal activity, terrorism, homeland security, cyber threats, or critical infrastructure as required.
  • Performing database inquiries and delivering analyzed results in a timely manner to fulfill information requests.
  • Creating detailed intelligence products focused on criminal behavior, terrorism, cyber threats, or critical infrastructure.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:
  • Certification in basic intelligence analysis training as outlined in FEMA-approved courses for the Homeland Security Grant Program.
  • Experience or knowledge in areas such as terrorism, behavioral threat assessment, transnational organized crime, cyber security, or counterintelligence.
  • Proven expertise in research and analytical methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively gather, analyze, summarize, interpret, and communicate information and technical data both orally and in writing.
  • Strong proficiency in personal computing, Microsoft Office applications, and analytical software for generating GIS-based maps, text, tables, graphs, and charts.
  • Expertise in open-source research and analytical tools.
  • Preferred experience with tools such as Penlink, SyncArena, ArcGIS, i2 Analyst Notebook, and/or Trapwire.
  • Capacity to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and produce logic-based analyses and recommendations regarding potential trends and outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records, manage multiple priorities, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Proven capability to establish and sustain effective working relationships with personnel at all levels and representatives from other agencies and organizations.
  • Ability to work semi-independently, prioritize tasks, and achieve high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating and delivering intelligence briefings for various audiences.
  • A degree in social science, government, business, or a criminal justice-related field, along with relevant analytical experience, including criminal analytical training.
  • Experience in public safety or broad governmental roles is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting, drug screening, and polygraph examination. Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a national security clearance at the Secret level.
Working Hours:
  • Candidates should be available to work an 8-hour shift at any time between 0600 and 1800 hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Availability for adjusted hours on weekends or evenings for special events and critical incidents is required.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. Telework may be permitted on a case-by-case basis, but it is not a standard option.
  • Candidates will participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours critical incident response.
  • Adherence to all relevant policies and procedures is mandatory.
Required Security Clearance Level: Candidates must hold or be able to obtain at least a Secret level national security clearance.
  • Analysts may begin work with an interim Secret clearance.
  • The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will sponsor clearances, and completion of the necessary forms will be required.
