Job Title: Superintendent (Mechanical)

Southland Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent (Mechanical) to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of large-scale construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and direct construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to foremen and general foremen, ensuring efficient completion of assigned duties.
  • Coordinate and participate in site-specific OSHA inspections, investigations, and claims.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained by crews and subcontractors.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems, including lack of productivity, work interfaces, and material shortages.
  • Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
  • Review RFI logs continuously and identify any issues that might affect the project.
  • Ensure that all change orders are properly executed and indicated on as-built plans.
Requirements:
  • Completion of craft apprenticeship program or equivalent skill level and training.
  • 5+ years in supervisory position.
  • Ability to understand project scopes and objectives, as well as scopes of other construction trades.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems before major difficulties develop.
  • Ability to manage differences and diversity at the workplace.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Ability to handle administrative duties of position, including completion of required paperwork.
