Job Summary

As a Staff Psychiatrist with TRADITIONS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to patients in Humboldt County. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering compassionate and evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment to patients in the jail setting, including medication management and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in court hearings and provide expert testimony as required.
  • Work closely with the nursing staff to ensure seamless care coordination and medication management.
  • Provide outpatient services, including medication management and therapy, to patients released from jail or on probation.

Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Psychiatry or related field.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in California.
  • Experience working in a psychiatric setting, preferably in a jail or correctional facility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
