Job Title: Commercial Construction Project Manager

Overview: The Barrie Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects from concept to closeout. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial construction, with a focus on project management, cost control, scheduling, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Monitor and supervise all construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project goals. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project financial performance.

Scheduling:

Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met. Proactively identify and address potential scheduling conflicts or delays.

Communication:

Facilitate clear and effective communication among project stakeholders, including team members, clients, and subcontractors. Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk assessments to senior management.

Design Management:

Coordinate with architects and design teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the construction process. Evaluate and provide input on design feasibility, constructability, and value engineering.

Contracts and Submittals:

Manage the preparation and execution of contracts with the client and contractors / consultants. Oversee the Request for Information (RFI) process and ensure timely resolution of queries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in project scheduling software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, RFIs, and submittals processes.
