Electrical Engineer for Battery Management Systems

At Apple, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with battery technology. As an Electrical Engineer for Battery Management Systems, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing innovative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop battery monitoring units and battery management units (BMUs) for next-generation consumer electronic products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product development meets performance targets and is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues related to battery management systems.
  • Develop schematics and BOMs to satisfy design requirements and specify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUs.
  • Analyze designs with simulation tools and calculations to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Conduct design validation on prototypes to implement the design and specify production test methods and limits.
Requirements:
  • BS + 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in analog and/or power electronics design.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design for mixed-signal boards.
  • Design validation of new silicon and prototype bring-up.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong EE fundamentals in electronic circuit design/development with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
  • Good knowledge of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.).
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis.
