Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Government Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will execute day-to-day activities in business process reengineering, financial statement analysis, and process documentation. You will also review and analyze internal and external financial management reports, compile financial statements and notes using Federal Government accounting policies and procedures, and assist management in ensuring compliance with applicable accounting principles, standards, and requirements. Additionally, you will provide for the development and reporting of cost information, and provide for the systematic measurement of performance data. Your work will be focused on ensuring timely and accurate programming and budgeting, as well as assisting in the preparation of briefings, memorandums, and presentations that communicate the findings of internal OMB A-123 audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study required; an advanced degree highly desired;
• 5+ years of experience providing accounting, financial audits or advisory services to the federal government highly desired;
• 3+ years of DoD Experience required;
• Experience with internal controls compliance and OMB A-123 audits, including documenting and testing financial processes highly desired;
• Strong communication skills and ability to establish a rapport with clients and colleagues;
• Ability to read and interpret policy, regulations, and directives;
• Ability to perform analysis and research relative to specific tasks.
