Job Title: Research Equipment Support Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Equipment Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our research support team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modification of a variety of electronic, HVAC-R controlled, and plumbed research equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance on scientific equipment, including temperature-controlled systems, centrifuges, and water systems.
  • Diagnose and repair research equipment, including temperature-controlled systems, centrifuges, and water systems.
  • Modify, design, or customize existing equipment as needed for research applications.
  • Manage the purchasing and inventory of materials and supplies for repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records on maintenance and repair to equipment.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to College faculty, staff, and students related to all maintenance, repair, and modification of scientific equipment.
Requirements:
  • Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a related field, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in applicable trades (HVAC-R, electronics technology, plumbing).
  • 4 years of experience in commercial or residential trades occupation.
