Key Responsibilities.

  • Respond to user requests for assistance with hardware, software, networking, smartphones, and other technology-related issues. Conduct interviews to gather information about the problem and guide users through diagnostic procedures to identify the source of the issue. Provide updates and completion information through the Service Desk system or direct communication.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the installation, support, and performance of Windows 7 and 10 operating systems, along with desktop applications such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Project) and web browsers in a networked setting. Assess whether issues stem from hardware or software.
  • Manage problem identification, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for user issues, escalating more complex problems to supervisors or technical staff as necessary. Aim for first-call resolution by answering support center calls, logging and tracking calls in the Service Desk system, and maintaining historical records and documentation.
  • Engage with Dell technical support to determine corrective actions for hardware repairs. Assist in the installation of hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives. Communicate activities with relevant team members and departments.
  • Availability to work scheduled hours for Service Desk coverage, with some flexibility, including occasional weekend responsibilities. Respond to off-hours calls as per a scheduled rotation to ensure timely problem resolution.
  • Conduct all duties with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications.

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience as a computer or PC Technician.
