Key Responsibilities.

  • Respond to user requests for assistance with hardware, software, networking, and other technology-related issues. Conduct interviews to gather information and guide users through diagnostic steps to identify the source of problems. Provide updates and completion information through the Service Desk system or direct communication.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Windows 7 and 10 operating systems, as well as desktop applications like Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project) and web browsers in a networked setting. Assess whether issues stem from hardware or software.
  • Manage problem identification, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for user issues, escalating more complex problems to supervisors or technical staff. Aim for first-call resolution by logging and tracking calls using the Service Desk system, maintaining historical records and documentation.
  • Engage with Dell technical support to determine solutions for hardware repairs. Assist in the installation of hardware and peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, and printers. Communicate with software and hardware vendors for service requests regarding defective products.
  • Adhere to scheduled hours for Service Desk coverage, demonstrating flexibility as needed, including occasional weekend responsibilities. Be prepared to respond to off-hours calls as part of a scheduled rotation.
  • Conduct all duties with professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications.

  • An Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in computer or PC support.
