Position: Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

As a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist, you will oversee the coordination of activities related to bulk cheese inventory sourced from approved suppliers. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the issuance of purchase orders, order entry, maintaining customer/vendor relationships, troubleshooting logistics and delivery issues, and managing drop shipment purchases. You will also assist in the administration of conversion bulk programs and support operations by processing order requests and sourcing items through approved vendors.

  • Act as a liaison between Procurement, Industrial Sales, and Operations regarding approved vendors' bulk cheese inventory.
  • Issue purchase orders for inbound cheese following the direction of the Procurement Manager - Operations.
  • Daily review of the bulk sheet to identify and address any potential issues.
  • Monitor open bulk sale orders and assist in the procurement and allocation of necessary items.
  • Procure items for Operations based on requests from internal teams or vendor-managed programs.
  • Manage conversion bulk programs effectively.
  • Execute various projects as assigned by the Procurement Manager - Operations or other team members.
  • Serve as a backup for different personnel within the Procurement Department.
  • Maintain internal communication regarding bulk cheese requirements, inventory status, and strategies.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Sales and Production Operations.
  • Assist in sourcing items at the most competitive prices as requested by Operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Supply Chain, or Operations, ideally within the cheese industry.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, along with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of customers, products, vendors, product quality, and Masters Gallery Foods' production capabilities and pricing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, both external and internal.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with cheese quality and characteristics.
  • Ability to coordinate activities among procurement and sales personnel.
  • Proficient in personal computers, Microsoft Office, and Outlook products.
  • Capability to create and generate necessary reports in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good typing and data entry skills.
  • Ability to source products required for operations.
